The Nightly Children Migration

Some curious goings-on have been transpiring in my house, on a nightly basis.  Just as the baby started sleeping through the night, as if planned, the children migration hit full throttle.

After I am soundly asleep at night, I am, more often than not, awakened by a tiny little body, stealing my blanket.  I love kiddo snuggles more than anything, so, I have been letting them come.

Last week, I reached my snuggle limit.  I was completely surrounded!  Evie squished onto one side of me.  Mason wriggled onto the other.  Then, my husband flopped his feet on top of mine!  I kept kicking his feet off of me, but they kept returning!  By morning I was exhausted and noted my husband's feet were actually my daughter, Dani.  Whoops!

My husband and I have started returning them to their beds, most nights.  Now, the migration is still in progress, but has slowed.  That's exactly how I like it.

Grateful Mom Goal of the Day:  Lots of daytime snuggles for my little ones, especially the one that got kicked.

Oh how funny! My daughter thinks it is playtime all the time so we could never get her to sleep with us. Hope you get some sleep soon!!

Can totally relate. Had two kids in the bed this morning. No wonder why I have a crick in my neck...lol...

Oh yeah! It always happens right when you think you are off scott-free. Of course, when our older daughter's migration ended, the baby started waking up again. Do you think she just goes in there and pinches the baby in the middle of the nigh as a sort of, "hmph, I'll show them . . ."?

Its so sweet but at the same time getting a good nights sleep is nice :) They seem to go through phases of this don't they? I love your goal of the day. Can never have enough snuggles!!

Aww, that photo of your daughter makes me think she looked like that in utero (sans the hair!)

I have never ever let my kids sleep in our bed. I am afraid my husband would squish them! :) Actually I don't think they have ever really wanted to though... They all sleep better in their own beds.

Isn't this just the way it goes. HaHa! Darned Murphy! We keep a sleeping bag under our bed for these occasions. Isn't it great that they love you so much!

Thankful that my little man is still in his crib so he can't make the nightly migration yet. Not sure what I will do when it starts happening!

By the way, I just awarded you with The Versatile Blogger Award. Please go to http://ahootiehoot.blogspot.com to claim your award!

Oh I remember those days! (or nights!) Some nights it was like the migration of the wild geese. I never knew who was in bed with us!

My son, who sleeps through the night, has started crying for us to bring him to our bed at 2 a.m. the past 3 nights. We've held strong, soothed him and kept him in his crib. It hasn't been too big a struggle or issue, but I'm wondering where this need to be in our bed is coming from. He goes to sleep easy-peasy ... but like an alarm goes off at 2 he calls out for us. I'm so tempted to bring him to bed with me because I love the snuggles but I don't want to make it a habit ... but he's so hard to resist!
