Justin Bieber! Already???

First grade has brought a plethora of new experiences to my daughter, Dani.  One new experience I was not expecting quite so soon: The Justin Bieber Phenomenon.

Is it a requirement for all first grade girls to love Justin Bieber?!?  Apparently.

"All the girls love Justin Bieber Mom." Dani authoritatively states.
"Why?"
"He's just so great."
Have you even seen a him before?  Do you know what he sings?"
"I heard part of a song once and it was really awesome."

A couple weeks ago, my daughter was invited to a dance themed birthday party.   We received THIS last week.
And, an extra bonus, Dani confessed (proudly) that she kissed Justin--twice!  I love the Mom who threw the party and I'm not upset.  My mind just hasn't been able to process this picture, or my daughter's confession.

I know I wasn't secretly in love with my fellow student, Ben Neighborgall, until the end of the third grade and I'm sure I wasn't obsessed with the amazing Richard Marx until I was starting my teenage years.

My little girl is growing up--so quickly!

Grumpy Mom Goal of the Day: My girls and I will have a dolly tea party,
and watch Strawberry Shortcake.

I can't remember liking boys in first grade. I think at that point they were still gross to me. I agree with you about the mom who had the picture up. I think it is too much for first grade girls.

Yikes! I do remember I had a crush on David Cassidy.... but I think that was in 3rd grade. They are starting younger and younger these days, good luck.

Goldie has a little friend in her K class who is 6 going on 16 -- so for a while Goldie was *IN LOVE* with a little boy in her class (who was very cute, mind you) and thought Justin was all that.

But I was so relieved last week when she told me that she thinks it's dumb to be in love with anybody at her age ... YIPPPPPEEEE!!

I'm definitely not ready for this "stuff" to start with Mia! It seems to be SO young nowadays! Dare I say that I played with baby dolls until I was in 7th grade!?!?!? (eek, that was embarrassing, but true nonetheless! :))

I'm so glad my little girl is still into Princesses. Disney Channel turns off as soon as the older stuff comes on. No High School Musical in my house! And not Disney radio. I keep it tuned to the local rock station. LOL! I'm going to die when she starts like the boy bands and the Biebers. Not looking forward to that!

I was working at my son's school bookfair a couple weeks ago and every girl - from K-5 that walked in there HAD to have a Justin Beiber something. Maybe I'm old - but I don't think he's all that cute and by the end of the two weeks I was ready to scream every time I heard his name. I think I was third or fourth grade before I started thinking boys didn't have cooties!!

My daughter is also in the 1st grade, but her older brother managed to convince her not to catch the Bieber Fever, lol!

However, she's recently confessed that she thinks the boys from Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush are "Super cute!"

Wha-? ;-)

Absolutely no idea who Justin Bieber is but I do seem to hear that name quite often. I suppose I should google it. :) Yes I need to step up the dolly tea parties as well! Have fun!

Oh, I wouldn't be ready for that at all. Of course I probably won't be ready for it until my daughter turns 25 either! ;) I love the dolly Strawberry Shortcake tea party. You could even make strawberry shortcakes! :) Actually come to think of it I think my first grade birthday party was Strawberry Shortcake. I remember having a pin the strawberry on Strawberry Shortcake's hat game.

Oooooooo thats early.
But what do I know.....I have only a boy. He just started thinking girls didn't stink in 3rd grade. Ha!
I remember playing kiss or kill with boys in 1st grade. Giving them big smooches if I caught them.

I can remember my first crush- I was in 3rd grade. Yes, kids are growing up so much faster these days. We have to enjoy them for as long as we can while they are still very young.

Yeah, having all the little girls singing along to Baby Baby Baby during my son's walkathon was very disturbing.
FYI, the hair conditioner thing was 4 days ago. I'm not getting wiser AT ALL.
