KARMA

I'm not a big believer in karma.  Terrible things happy to great people and vice versa, but sometimes, the little stuff catches up with you.

I had run out of a few essential items and headed to the grocery store this past week.  I am normally quite courteous to my fellow shoppers, but I was rushed.  When I was done shopping, I made a speedy beeline to the checkout area.  In my hurried state I, accidentally, cut right in front of someone.  I didn't stop.  Instead I just hollered out a quick, "Sorry.".

Then, I heard something that stopped me dead in my tracks.  "Hi!"

I turned back.

Yes.  I knew the person I had cut off.  She is a widow that attends my church.  I must have looked like a deer in the headlights.  I unintentionally blurted out, "Oh no!  I wasn't suppose to know you!"  She was, thankfully, very gracious.

In possibly related news:  Two more pregnancy pounds magically disappeared from my body the next day, two weeks after I finished breastfeeding.  Sadly, those pounds were taken entirely from my already flattish chest!    As a consolation for my loss, a lovely zit also popped up in the middle of my 35-year-old chin.

Karma.

Grumpy Mom Goal of the Day:  I will improve my grocery store etiquette and embrace my new anti-voluptuous figure.

The other day someone cut me off during the middle shcool drop off dance and just as I was about to let out some choice language I realized it was one of my best girlfriends. We both had a very good laugh! I always love to stop by your site becuase I know I am going to laugh! Happy Monday!

I break out worst now, at almost 30, then I ever did in my younger years, UGH! I'm actually sporting a quite noticeable pimple on my chin as we speak....that my son felt the need to point out! :)

Have a great day! :)

LOL. I have a personal journal that I update about a billion times a day, and I just wrote about an instance of "cart rage" myself! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

I totally believe in Karma. You reap what you sow.
How had you lost some cleavage! Mine are finally starting to plump up! I miss my breastfeeding boobs!

First of all, thanks for making me laugh out loud this dreary Monday morning! Next, voluptuous isn't all it's cracked up to be, no pun intended. Just think "flat is flirty, flat is flirty!"...I think I just made that up. Last of all; be thankful you don't live in a small town where YOU KNOW EVERYONE AT THE STORE...so you have no choice- you MUST always be on your best behavior! :)

Love that I know I will get a laugh from your blog! Don't blame yourself about cutting someone off in the store-I blame the aisles as they are too narrow and you can never see around the corners if someone is coming!

What a hoot! Speaking of chests (you were, weren't you?), I would mock my girlfriends at school saying that, "At least *I* won't have a saggy chest after I have kids."

Yeah right ... karma will get ya every time! :) Love ya, girl!

How funny is that? Of course you knew the person, why wouldn't you? Geesh.

HA! I can so sympathize with you. And sorry to hear about the zit, but I can sympathize there too...I have one the size of a small Caribbean island on my nose. Where my 8-going-on-15-year-old-son said, "Mom! WHAT is THAT on your nose?! Did you run into a door?"

Great post! Made me smile :)

I love reading your blog and love the sweet comments you make on mine too :) I think our lives may be a little too similar! Today though I have something that may make you feel better; your chest may have flattened a touch more, but only one of mine flattened. I literally have one that is barely a B and one overflowing C! Gotta love what breastfeeding can do to your body, haha. I just tell anyone who asks (and yes some people ARE that inappropriate) that it is one of my mommy battlewounds :)

Why on earth do we have to deal with zits! It's so unfair.

I'm 27 and have more zits now, than ever before. My husband loves to point them out, duh it's not like I didn't already know it was there!
Being cut-off at the store happens all the time, don't feel bad! And maybe that women needed someone to say a simple "hi" to! You never know ;0

I've done this before. It is always embarrassing. Almost like going to the store in my awful cleaning clothes without hair or makeup attempted and running into people you know.
